I used Master Packager for quite a while before I attended the training and I had about 3 and a half years of experience with MSI packaging. The amount of new information and tips/tricks Toms and Edijs gave me in just 16 hours of training was way higher than I expected before I started. Toms and Edijs are great trainers with a lot of experience, they provide you with examples that happened in real life.

After the training, I knew way more about MSI Tables, the meaning of Features and Components, Custom Actions and so much more. I could apply the knowledge I gained during this training in my daily work instantly.

Now the tool itself – WOW, how have I not seen or used this before. There are some huge game changers here and all I can say is please, download the tool, use it, learn it and if you want the extra advice, tips and tricks then this course if perfect for you. I’ve been in IT over 20 years and this was the best training I’ve had.

This is all completely honest – I’ve been on a few Microsoft courses run by QA costing over £3000 that were just going through a book. I did learn but not that much. If they had sold the lab book I’d learn just as much. Thankfully for me, my employers paid but it was poor value for money.

Your training was the opposite.
I’m now able to do a better job. I do love Master Wrapper. I’m not sure how I missed it, but I have added to my standard process now.

On the first day of the course, I got interested in a theory about insights of installers and the way how you should properly think and ask questions to yourself during the discovery phase even before starting with packaging technical things.
I’ve been doing software packaging for the past 3 years and finally know what other MSI tables are for. As well learned other methods on how to find the MSI in the first place.
I feel like it’s fundamental to have knowledge of why these entries exist and what MSI actually does and in what order.
Another thing that I really appreciate I learned is in regards to applying properly licenses in MSI as on a daily basis our software portfolio includes quite many application packages with licenses and license servers.

Toms and Edijs are truly a Master Packager class guys and to learn about tips\tricks and useful tools really makes a huge difference, so to say with these tools and tips you can speed up your packaging process by a pretty big difference, for example how to properly filter Procmon was a big deal for me, instead of my 30-40 minutes finding one entry I were able to find it in 2 minutes.

I was quite familiar with CustomActions before to perform required actions, but during learning, found more insights about it and you can actually do way more than I used it for.
The final package creation with all participants was a great way how to finalize the learning course where we used major learned functionalities and how to actually use them in real package scenarios.
