New features

Master Packager

  • Allow to configure Install Execute Sequence from Custom Action editor. MPDEV-2593
    • Now it is possible to add InstallExecuteSequence for new CA just with one click where previously it required to navigate to InstallExecuteSequnce view, find the Custom Action and fill out the information.

Master Packager Toolbox

  • Allow to search and open Intune apps under tenant. MPDEV-2351

    • For improved convenience, there is now an Install apps button that shows all selected tenant Intune apps. The search and view provides a quick way to find a specific app in Intune, and the three dots can be used to open that app directly in Intune to view more details.

  • Convert package files into .intunewin file automatically before uploading to Intune.

    • Previously, packagers had to create a .intunewin file using our provided tools, such as the right-click context menu or directly in Master Packager Toolbox. But that process wasn’t efficient. It was boring to do it for every package. Now, Master Packager Toolbox automatically creates the .intunewin file for you when uploading to Intune using the Upload to Intune option.

      • Allow to select PSADT projects for upload to Intune and convert them automatically during upload. MPDEV-2403
      • Allow to select MSI files for upload to Intune and convert them automatically during upload. MPDEV-2547
      • Allow to select MSI+MST files for upload to Intune and convert them automatically during upload. MPDEV-2548
      • Allow to select EXE files for upload to Intune and convert them automatically during upload. MPDEV-2549
      • Do not overwrite and always create new intunewin files when converting. MPDEV-2556

  • Display file count and folder size in intunewin convert description. MPDEV-2566

    • All files in the folder/subfolders will be used when selecting file for upload to the Intune, due to the the way Microsoft-Win32-Content-Prep-Tool works for converting to .intunewin. To help packagers understand if there are more files selected than needed we now show file count and size to help reduce unnecessary file upload to Intune.

  • Improve .intunewin/.wim file conversion/extraction error messages. MPDEV-2539

  • Update Microsoft-Win32-Content-Prep-Tool to 1.8.7. MPDEV-2543

  • Improve header and description for added packages to upload. MPDEV-2560

  • Adjust PSADT V4 Uninstall Command Line generation to work with PSADT 4.1.x. MPDEV-2563

  • Add button to refresh installed apps. MPDEV-2581

  • Improve UI to align with Fluent design standards. MPDEV-2582

  • Time in upload success notification should follow OS regional settings. MPDEV-2583

Master Wrapper

  • Update PSADT to 4.1.5. MPDEV-2585

    • We keep up with every PSAppDeployToolkit release and make sure that Master Wrapper supports all the new bits. Now we support the latest PSAppDeployToolkit 4.1.5 version and you can update your template.

  • Allow to configure custom registry detection key prefix. MPDEV-2546

    • For us the best way to make a standardization solution for package detection is to create a registry key as the final action in PSADT installation process and remove it on uninstallation. Now it is possible to change the default detection registry key path prefix “HKLM\SOFTWARE\InstalledApps” to your preferred

  • Add support for MinimizeWindows parameter for 4.1 packages. MPDEV-2552

    • You can now easily enable an option to minimize all open end-user Windows when PSADT detects conflicting processes during installation. This helps draw the user’s attention and ensures focus on the PSADT prompts needed to continue the installation.

  • Add support for ForceCloseProcessesCountdown. MPDEV-2554

    • With just one click it is possible to enable force countdown for PSAppDeployToolkit, even if there are remaining deferrals left.

  • Dynamically load languages from strings folder to support custom languages for LanguageOverride. MPDEV-2558

  • Add support for “-” to remove registry keys and names in “Add registry values from .reg file” quick action. MPDEV-2575

Bugs fixed

Master Packager

  • Import Certificate value for Driver installation custom action is not read when opening an MSI. MPDEV-2553
  • Find and Replace fails with an unhandled exception when find text is empty. MPDEV-2557
  • Driver installation custom action does not verify certificate trust correctly. MPDEV-2574

Master Packager Toolbox

  • Cannot clear default or tenant specific Intune app template values. MPDEV-2550

Master Wrapper

  • Loading specific MSI files in General page does not correctly prefill package name. MPDEV-2532
  • Installers added to uninstall section should not be added to install section in main actions. MPDEV-2568
  • “Allow Defer” should also work without any “Processes to be closed” defined. MPDEV-2584
